Helen M. Pearce

Helen M. Pearce, Age 90, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2012, at McKinney Health Care Facility in McKinney, Texas. She was born April 24, 1922 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was the daughter of William and Ella Moessen. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1940 and attended Nazareth College. Helen was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Kalamazoo. She worked at Willow Run during WWII. She married Gerald D. Pearce and returned to Kalamazoo to work and raise her family. After retirement from Plainwell Paper Company Helen traveled extensively throughout Europe and North America. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her brother, Dr. Gus Moessen. Helen took great pride in her four children and their families. Surviving are Dr. Thomas G. Pearce, PhD (Sandra), The Honorable Carol M. McCarthy (Thomas), Cinda Lee Hogg (R.Edward), and David Christopher Pearce, USAF (RET) (Silvia); Helen loved sharing stories of the accomplishments of her her eight grandchildren, Jeffrey Hogg, Benjamin (Victoria) Hogg, Karsten (Amanda) Pearce, Rudy Pearce, Andrew (Caitlyn), McCarthy, Peter (Bailey) McCarthy, David Pearce and Elizabeth Pearce. She is also survived by her five great grandchildren, Matthew Pearce, Holton Pearce, Liliana Hogg, Annelise Hogg, and Grace McCarthy. Arrangements are being coordinated by Turrentine Jackson Morrow of McKinney, Texas and Redmond Funeral Home of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Helen will be laid to rest at Mt Ever-Rest, Kalamazoo, Michigan.
