Joel Wright

Mr. Joel Wright of Kalamazoo Passed away Saturday November 24, 2012 at Rose Arbor Hospice. He was born in Kalamazoo February 4, 1954 the son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (DeRoo) Wright. He graduated from Comstock High School. He owned AFFTECH Computer Sales and Service in Kalamazoo since 1988. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and School where he coached basketball. He also coached Little League baseball and softball for many years. When he was younger he would help his father “BIG JOE” Wright with his sports reporting duties. He had an ardent love of animals. Joel is survived by his wife Pamela (Ruggles) Wright, their two children Joseph (Leslie) Wright, of Chicago, IL and Melissa (Keith) Canavan of Portage; two grandchildren, Madison and Caleb; sister Jeanne (Ralph) Vartabedian of CA, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; mother-in-law, Jeanette Ruggles of Three Rivers, and his favorite dog, CJ. The family will host a visitation at 10AM on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Southern Heights Christian Reformed Church, 4141 E. Hillandale, Kalamazoo, where a memorial service will follow at 11AM, with Rev. Dan Sarkipato, officiating. Guests are invited to stay for lunch and refreshments following the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Joel’s memory may be made to West Michigan Cancer Center or Rose Arbor Hospice (Hospice Care of SW MI).
