Jerry Louis Branch

Jerry L. Branch of Kalamazoo, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at home. Jerry was born July 5, 1938 in Kalamazoo the son of Howard and Leona (White) Branch. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was formerly employed as an operating engineer for Shinville Excavating and Miller David Company. He was a proud member of Operating Engineers Local 324 for over 40 years. Jerry enjoyed drag racing, working on cars, hunting and spending time with his family. On September 5, 1964 in Kalamazoo Jerry was united in marriage to the former Rita June Costello who preceded him in death in 1998. Surviving is a son, Danny (Rebecca) Branch of Gobles; daughter, Diane (Noel Coffinger) Branch of Plainwell; four grandchildren, Allison, Sarah Branch, Kieran and Kyle Shawhan; brother-in-law, Mike (Sally) Costello; several nieces. He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry (Arlene) Branch. Friends are being received Friday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49008 (269) 343-6156, where services will be held 11 am, Saturday. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery.
