Lester "Frank" Francis Baird

Lester Francis aka Frank, Hot Rod Baird, Jr. of Kalamazoo passed away August 20, 2015 in Kalamazoo he was born July 27, 1949 in Kalamazoo the son of Lester George and Julia Judith (Sulka) Baird. He worked for Boilermakers Union Local 169 and then retired from Western Michigan University. Frank was an avid NASCAR fan and local racing driver and championship car builder/mechanic, street rods, enjoyed teaching welding and container gardening. On August 30, 1969 in Kalamazoo Frank was united in marriage to the former Linda Diane Miller who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Lester Robert “Rob” (Kathy Colvin) Baird, William Thomas (Dawn Deharte) Baird, Randal Phillip (Kelly Lamphear) Baird; Much loved grandchildren, Robert Grey Baird, Shyanne Tailyr Baird, Leslie Diane Baird, and Gavin Alistar Baird. He is preceded in death by his father Lester G. Baird in 2011, his mother Judy Baird in 1997; brother, David Thomas Baird in 2010; father-in-law, Robert E. Miller. Friends are being received 5-8 pm Monday, August 24, 2015 and 10-11 am Tuesday at Parchment Redmond Funeral Home 2300 East "G" Ave. Parchment, MI 49004 (269) 349-7735 where services will be held Tuesday at 11 am.
