Peter C. Katt

Peter Katt, principal of Katt & Company, was a nationally recognized life insurance expert. Practicing since 1979, he was a pioneer in fee-only life insurance advising. He was a contributing editor and life insurance columnist for the AAII Journal (published by the American Association of Individual Investors) since 1990 and the Journal of Financial Planning since 1992. He also contributed to the AICPA Insider and Forbes.com. He enjoyed the act of expressing ideas in writing, taking on difficult subjects and wrestling them to the ground to find clarity. As a national expert Peter was frequently quoted in such publications as the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Newsweek and Kiplinger’s. He was known for his strong opinions and brusque style. He will be sorely missed within the industry. He leaves behind his daughter, Erinn Hess, her husband Nick and their daughter Reagan, as well as his son Noah Katt.
