Ruth E. Craig

Ruth E. Craig of Portage, passed away Wednesday November 25, 2015 at Kairos Dwelling after a long battle with COPD. She was born on March 31, 1927 in Wheeling, W.VA to Robert and Olive (Hannahs) Foose. She was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings and her former husband. Although she worked in healthcare for twenty years she didn’t attend nursing school until she was 46 years old when she received her nursing certificate from KVCC and became an LPN. She worked until she was seventy. She was the proud parent of three children: Cindi (Jack) Kindig, Christine Craig and Curtis (Jennifer) Craig. She also leaves behind four grandchildren: Donovin Craig, John (Kristine) Kindig, Jennifer (Dennie) Peters and Kristen (Blake) Maly; seven great-grandchildren: Travis and Lauren Kindig, Justin, Jarrett and Shelby Peters, Bryce and Brenna Maly plus one great-great-grandson, Maddox Lehasky. She cherished every one of them. In addition she sadly leaves her most loved cat, Patches. She was a strong but gentle woman with a wonderful sense of humor. She was loved beyond words and will be missed greatly by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place. A funeral Mass will be held 11 am Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015 at St. Monica Catholic Church.
