Monica Catherine Herman

Monica C. Herman of Kalamazoo passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side, Saturday December 26, 2015 at Plainwell Pines Nursing Home. Monica was born September 4, 1921 in Hamtramck the daughter of Martin and Catherine (Plochinski) Kuraszewski. She was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church. On September 16, 1950 in Hamtramck Monica was united in marriage to Lawrence Herman who preceded her in death on March 12, 1975. Surviving are two sons, Tom (Alta) Herman of Parchment, Paul (Kathleen) Herman of Kalamazoo; two daughters, Patricia (Patric) Patterson of Kalamazoo, Nancy McCaslin of Kalamazoo; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Peggy Doornhaag and Barbara Herman; brother, Joseph Kuraszewski; three sisters, Marie Albright, Victoria Klavinski, Betty Crachiola; granddaughter, Michelle; great-grandson, Hayden. Friends are being received Saturday, January 2, 2016 from 10 – 11am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following at 11 am. Interment will be at a later date in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. Arrangements by Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S.
