James V. Milan, Sr.

On Jan. 11, 2016 God called Jim home. He was born Nov. 30, 1925 in Portage, MI to Joseph and Mary (Chiceralla) Milan. He and his twin Tootie were the youngest of ten children. He was a proud Army veteran of WWII. He had a tax and accounting business for over 50 years and enjoyed his work. He also enjoyed working in the yard and being outdoors. All of his many grandchildren were an enjoyment to him. He was preceded in death by first wife: Kathleen. daughter: Shannon Henderson, son: Kevin, step-daughter: Kim Pare, granddaughter: Christina Milan, siblings: Patrick, Ben, Barbara, Lena, Francis Milan, Rose Siel, Marie Hande, Mary Jordan, and Tootie Wedel. Jim is survived by his wife of 43 years Nancy, and his children Jim (Jan) Milan, Terrence, Christopher, Rodney Milan, Debbie (Scott) Sheehy, Paulette Davis, Lori (Ron) Ullyot, Roxanne Hodgemire, and Kathleen Ready, step-son Richard Weck and grandchildren which he raised Alan, Justin, Matt, and Brittany Pare. He also has many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday January 22, 2016, 10:00 to 11:00 am at Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49008 (269) 343-6156 with services to follow at 11 am. Interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
