Emilie Anna Garrity

Emilie A. Garrity of Canton formerly of Comstock passed away Thursday February 10, 2016 at her home. Emilie was born May 25, 1911 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Bohumil and Marie (Musil) Havlik. She was a member for 70 years of St. Joseph Catholic Church, she retired after over 20 years in food service at Western Michigan University and she enjoyed baking and providing friends and relatives with many baked goods. In 1929 ) Emilie was united in marriage to Peter J. Garrity who preceded her in death in 1977. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Patricia Nuttall in 1988 and a brother, Albert Havlik and a sister Marie Havlik. Surviving are five grandchildren, Betsy Morris, William Nuttall, Jr., Peter Nuttall, James Nuttall, Sarah Walker; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a niece and nephew. Friends are being received Monday February 15, 2016 from 10 -11 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kalamazoo where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following at 11 am. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church. Arrangements by Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S.
