Stella Cine Rowley

Stella C. Rowley of Kalamazoo passed peacefully Sunday at home at the age of 86. Stella is survived by her husband, David T.; son, Martin T.; and a brother, Robert Payne. Stella was born on February 11, 1930 in Moulton, Alabama, the daughter of Tony A. and Mae Allen (Beck) Payne. On February 6, 1971 she married to David T. Rowley for 45 years. She was married before to Daniel Johnson who preceded her in death. They had two children, Ruby Gail and Daniel Jean, which also preceded her in death. Stella worked at Kalamazoo Regional Hospital for seven years. She then operated an Adult Foster Care for twenty five years. Stella was preceded in death by; three brothers, three sisters, and her parents. She is survived by six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Stella was a member of 12th Street Baptist Church for many years. Friends will be received Friday, April 8, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49017 (269) 343-6156 where services will be held Saturday at 11:00 am.
