Doris Margaret Reisterer (Koestner)

Doris (Koestner) Reisterer died at her home on October 13, 2016. She was born on June 2, 1917 the daughter of John R. and Ina (Keller) Koestner. She graduated from St. Augustine High School and Western State Teachers College. On June 10, 1939 she married Norbert S. Reisterer D.D.S., and they celebrated 68 years together before his death on December 16, 2007. Mom was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers: James, Robert and Jack Koestner, sisters: Jean Branson and Marion Lewis, and her great grandson Joseph Reisterer. Doris is survived by her seven sons: Jack, Mike, Jim, Tom, Nib, Pete and Rick, 24 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and a few great great-grandchildren, brother: Paul Koestner and her sister Joannie Beebe, several nieces & nephews. Family was the center of mom’s life, but, she was known for the beautiful gardens she created wherever she lived. She also had the adventure of travelling through most European countries with her cousin, Mary Koestner and her sister Joannie. Friends will be received Tuesday October 18 at St. Monica Catholic Church from 9:30am until services time at 10:30 Fr. Larry Farrell Celebrant. Burial will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
