Arnold Benjamin LaMere

Arnold B. LaMere 93 of Portage passed away Saturday January 7, 2023 at Hawthorn Landing Assisted Living. Arnold was born January 5, 1930 in Comstock the son of Paul and Rose (Mara) LaMere. He graduated from Comstock High School and was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Army and he retired as a production manager for W.L. Molding and then Triple S Plastics. Arnold was a charter member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church and he enjoyed fishing, woodworking, golfing and bowling. On June 30, 1956 in Kalamazoo Arnold was united in marriage to the former Gloria Summerfield who survives. Also surviving are four children, Arnold LaMere Jr, Joseph LaMere, Jeanne LaMere, Lynne (Robert) Stewart;  grandchildren, Nick (Linh) LaMere and Amy LaMere; great-granddaughter, Oriane LaMere; sister, Rosemary Resseguie; several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Delina Duchay; two brothers, Frank and John Richard LaMere. Friends will be received Noon to 2 pm January 13, 2023 at Redmond Funeral Home, Kalamazoo. Graveside services will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Centrica Care Navigators or Battle Creek VA Medical Center. www.redmondfuneralhomes.net
