Bernadette Marie Colbath

Bernadette Marie Colbath of Portage passed away on May 9, 2017. She was born in Kalamazoo, on June 20, 1958 the daughter of Dale and Theresa (Dennany) King. She was a graduate of Loy Norrix High School and was a teacher in the Kalamazoo Public School System and worked in healthcare. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Bernadette was preceded in death by her sister, Becky Brand. Bernadette is survived by 2 children: Tiffany (Ryan) Murphy and Grant (Kayla) Greene, 4 grandchildren: Damian, Mia, Silas, Ava, brothers: Brad (Kathy) King and Bryan (Susan) King, sister: Brenda (Dave) Merkel. Friends will be received 5-8 pm Friday May 19, 2017 at Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49008 (269) 343-6156 where a Rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Saturday May 20, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. www.redmondfuneralhomes.net
