Bernard Steffler

Bernie Steffler passed away Saturday June 10, 2023 at home, surrounded by his family. Bernie was born in Kalamazoo on June 12, 1929, the son of William D. and Hazel (Marshall) Steffler. He was a life long resident of Kalamazoo as well as a life long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he served on the Buildings and Grounds Committee. After 30 years Bernie retired from Whitaker Construction Company as a Construction Superintendent. He was preceded in death by Three siblings: Helen Green, Margaret Hammill, William Steffler. Bernie is survived by his wife Mary Ann to whom he was married 67 years, 3 children: Joseph (Susie LeClear) Steffler, Ann ( Paul) Juzwiak and William (Rachel Handley) Steffler  HIs 6 grandchildren: Amy,, David, Ryan, and Andrew Steffler, Emily and Matthew Juzwiak , 5 great grandchildren: Joey, Phoebe, Leo, Kylah and Lincoln Steffler, Brother, Robert (Janer) Steffler, several nieces & nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday June 13, 2023 from 6pm until 8pm at Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge, with a scripture service at 7pm given by Msgr. Michael Hazard. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Wed. June 14, 2023 at St. St. Joseph Catholic Church at 11am. Fr. Antony Rajesh Celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
