Brenda Gayle Allen

September 17, 1954 — April 11, 2022

Brenda Gayle Allen passed away very suddenly at Bronson Hospital of Kalamazoo. Brenda was born on September 17, 1954, the middle child of five. Brenda gave up her job to be a caregiver to our parents and both brothers. Larry was her longest caregiving job until his death in 2020. Her love and devotion to family was beyond words, always thinking of other one’s needs. Brenda’s love for horses was very special. She loved trail riding and caring for her horses. She also worked at making hay and riding her John Deer tractors. She loved gardening, growing produce for all her family, neighbors, and friends. Made her famous homemade fudge at Christmas and decked out the front yard with a large Nativity scene. Brenda was known by all to be a very hard worker. Her Catholic faith played a very important part of who she was, with special devotions to the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary. She loved Jesus with all her heart. Her circle of friends were small, but they gave her such joy and love. Many thanks go to Charlene and Kevin Dinzik, Mark Yarger, Joyce Meninga, sisters Donna and Diana. Preceded in death by her parents, Gerald W. Allen and Burdella A. Allen; half-brother Larry J. Combs; and brother Wesley R. Allen. Surviving are Donna (Allen) Terry Storey of North Carolina; nieces and nephews; and Diana K. Allen of Galesburg. Her wishes of cremation have been fulfilled. A mass for Brenda will be held at St. Monica Church Monday May 9, 2022 at 10:30 am. There will not be a luncheon afterward. Donations can be made to St. Monica Church to have mass said for Brenda.
