Brian Dale Longjohn

Brian passed away suddenly Monday October 18, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer at his home he shared with his wife and sweetie, Sharon. Brian was born December 10, 1958 in Kalamazoo, the youngest son of Gabriel and Jeannine (Sly) Longjohn. Brian worked alongside his dad and brother Bruce in the family business Longjohn Concrete. After his retirement, he worked part time for Stress Con. Music was a large part of Brian’s life. He played in many bands over the years. He was an accomplished musician on many instruments, but was the Master of the bass. Brian lived a full and happy life with the love of his life, Sharon. They enjoyed traveling throughout Michigan and spending time with his 3 beautiful granddaughters. He attended many concerts and taking his mom to bible study. He is survived by his wife Sharon (Aukerman) Longjohn, stepson Brandon DeHollander and his wife Melissa, three granddaughters Seryn, Harlynn, and Maedyn, mother Jeannine Longjohn, brothers Keith, David (Cynthia) Bruce Longjohn, two sisters Susan Longjohn and Mary (Jeff) Jackson. Several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Mark Longjohn and father Gabriel Longjohn and nephew Jordan Jackson. A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, October 23 from 1 to 4 at UU Community Church, 10441 Shaver Road, Portage, MI 49024.
