Dale Gerald Meinzinger

Mr. Dale (Jerry) Meinzinger passed away peacefully at Bronson Commons on Sunday September 16, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Marty Meinzinger, formerly Martha Mesick of Kalamazoo. Jerry is also survived by his three daughters; Mary (David) Urisko, Annie (Mike) Fassler, Amy (Matt) Wolff, his grandchildren; Richard (Loretta) Urisko, Meghan Urisko, Katie Urisko, Michael Mehall, Patrick Mehall, his sister; Gayle (Roy) Gutnecht and several nieces and nephews. There was nothing more important to Jerry than his family and his incredible love for them. Jerry’s legacy of unfailing love and kindness has no end. Jerry was born on December 29, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan. He was the son of Dale and Martha (Plafchan) Meinzinger. Jerry held a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Western Michigan University and he retired from The Upjohn Company after more than 20 years of employment. Jerry was a Kalamazoo Rotarian and a volunteer board member and committee member for many of Kalamazoo’s nonprofit organizations (Ministry of Community, Heritage Community, Friendship Village, WMU’s Gary Fund and many more). Jerry’s love of life and people were evident to all who knew him. He will truly be missed. A funeral service to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m.  Saturday October 20, 2018 at Southridge Church 6726 Texas Dr. Kalamazoo, MI  49009.
