Debra Jean Keown

Debra Jean Keown 59 of Comstock passed away Tuesday June 27, 2017 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Debra was born July 1, 1957 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Robert and Joyce (Worden) Skees.  Anyone who knew Debra knows of her big heart, forgiving nature, and fierce love for her family and friends. She was united in marriage to Kerry A. Keown on October 30, 1982 in Kalamazoo; he preceded her in death on February 13, 2016. Also preceding her in death was a brother, Robert Skees, Jr; sister, Christine Skees. Surviving are two children, Desiree (Ian) Stoy of Jersey City, NJ, Kerry (Sandra Mendoza-Mata) Keown of Plymouth; grandchildren, Kaylee Keown, Lluvia Paola Mendoza, Maria Fernanda Mendoza; brother, Kevin (Donna) Skees of Kalamazoo; four sisters, Teresa (Dick) Root of Kalamazoo, Robin (Joe Cook) Hopper of Comstock, Kimberly Skees of Kalamazoo, Colleen (Mike) Brubaker of Kalamazoo; several nieces & nephews. Friends will be received 9 – 10 am Saturday July 1, 2017 at Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave. Kalamazoo, MI (269) 343-6156, where services will follow at 10 am.
