Donald LaLiberte

Donald Joseph LaLiberte, 76, of Schoolcraft, MI, passed away at his home in June. Don was born in Kalamazoo to Roland and Anne (Dennany) LaLiberte on December 11, 1943. He was a 1962 graduate of Loy Norrix High School, and a member of The Marine Reserves. He was united in marriage to Gerry Hollobaugh, in Portage in 1986. Don was fascinated with vehicles from an early age, and enjoyed attending car shows. Don and Gerry also enjoyed spending time at their cabin in Baldwin. He was the owner of LaLiberte’s Auto Center in Portage, and was self-employed in the auto repair business for 52 years. Don is survived by his two brothers, David (Nancy) LaLiberte, of Schoolcraft, and Terry (Emily) LaLiberte of North Carolina , nieces, Gina and Meghan, nephews, Dana and Jon, and their families. Also, stepsons. Randy and Robert, and their families. Additionally, he leaves his best friend, Bernie Daggett (Jan). He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Gerry. Burial will be in the Schoolcraft Village Cemetery at a later date. Redmond Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
