Gloria M LaMere

Gloria M. LaMere passed away on September 13, 2023. Gloria was born in Kalamazoo on February 25, 1929, the daughter of Roger F. and Charlotte A. (Parks) Summerfield.

Gloria graduated from St. Augustine High School, and on June 30, 1956, Gloria was united in marriage to Arnold B. LaMere at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kalamazoo. She and Arnold were charter members of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.

Gloria was a loving and doting wife and mother and was known for her infectious laugh and sense of humor. She was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and also TV comedies such as Friends and Everybody Loves Raymond and also enjoyed occasional trips to the casino.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband Arnold on January 7, 2023, and a sister Norma A. Shupp and brothers Roger E. “Bud” Summerfield and Norbert J. Summerfield.

Gloria is survived by her children Arnold LaMere Jr., Joseph LaMere, Jeanne LaMere, and Lynne (Robert) Stewart; grandchildren Nick (Linh) LaMere and Amy LaMere; great granddaughter Oriane; sister Sally A. Summerfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received Monday, September 25, from noon until 2pm at Redmond Funeral Home, Kalamazoo. Graveside services will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Centrica Care Navigators
