Grace Julia Bonhomme

Grace passed away on July 29, 2021 with family surrounding her. Grace was born in Kalamazoo, on April 19, 1935 the daughter of Ray and Bernice (Dhaenens) Chadderdon. She was a charter member of St. Catherine of Siena Church Grace loved the water be it river, lake or ocean. She was a Farkle enthusiast, enjoyed playing cards, working puzzles, watching the harness races at the county fair. She loved a good meal out and spending time with family and friends. Grace had a strong faith that she actively lived out daily. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter on April 21, 1998, son Mark Bonhomme, brothers: Joseph Chadderdon and Jim Chadderdon, sister: Lucille Burgwald. Grace is survived by her daughters: Julia & Scott McPherson of Hudsonville, Ann & Edwin Simmons of Oshtemo and Denise & Chris Tyler of Portage, daughter in law: Mindy Bonhomme of Parchment, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, brother: Harold Chadderdon of Omaha, sisters: Vera Russell of Kalamazoo, Margaret Ecker of Parchment and Janet Chadderdon CSJ of Kalamazoo, brother in law: Gene Burgwald of Kalamazoo, brother in law: Robert Bonhomme, Sr, of Portage, many nieces & nephews. Friends will be received from 6 until 8 pm Thursday August 5, 2021 at Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave. Another visitation will be Friday Aug. 6, 2021 from 9:30 until 10:30 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church where a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am Rev. Fr. Ben Huynh Celebrant. The Funeral Mass will be recorded and the video will be available to view in all three locations following the Mass. Inurnment of cremains will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Congregation of St. Joseph or Hospice of S.W. Michigan.
