Jeffrey Francis Block

Jeffrey F. Block, MD, 81, of Kalamazoo passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Ascension Living Borgess Place. Dr. Block was born December 13, 1940, in Chicago, IL, the son of Walter and Alice (Schwartz) Block. He graduated from Georgetown University and the University of Chicago Medical School and completed his Nephrology Residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He served as a physician in the U.S. Army Medical Corp. during the Vietnam War. Dr. Block was united in marriage to the former Constance Goodwillie who preceded him in death in 1988. In 1991, he married the former Janice Wilson who survives. Also surviving are three children, Jennifer (Richard) Howard, Holly (Rick Lozon) Schaefer, Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Block, Jr.; two step-daughters, Carol (Michael) McCloskey, Amanda (Billy) Ogden; 11 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Dr. Block was predeceased by brother, Michael Block, and sister, Joan Schiffman. Friends will be received Thursday, June 23, 2022, 5-8 PM, at Redmond Funeral Home, Westnedge Avenue, Kalamazoo, with Prayer Service at 7:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Friday at St. Monica Church in Kalamazoo. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kalamazoo. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Michael J.
