John J. Steve

John Steve Junior passed away at home on July 12, 2017, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.  John was born in Battle Creek, MI on February 2, 1955 the son of John E. and Marjorie (Pierce) Steve. He worked for Hammond Roto Finish for 33 years.  He enjoyed camping and having a beer while sitting around the bonfire with family and friends. John Junior had a love for motorcycles starting at a young age.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles whether it be on a frozen lake, a dirt track, cross country trails or on the roadways. In later years, he enjoyed long journeys on his Harley.   He enjoyed traveling to the U.P. and going to other places such as the Buckley Steam Engine Show.  He also enjoyed playing pool, horseshoes, ice fishing, socializing and cooking (especially on the grill). John Junior had a knack for fabricating and engineering and was often helping friends and family with mechanical problems.  He was easy going, a consummate gentleman and always willing to help others. John Junior was preceded in death by a sister: Suzanne Borgman and nephew Kirk Steve. He is survived by his fiancé Joni Lynch, brother Jim (Lindy), a niece Leanne, nephews Brian and Kevin, and two step grandsons:  Aaron and Adam. A Celebration of Life for John Junior will be held Saturday July 22, 2017 at The Dock at The Bayview, 12504 E D Ave, Richland, MI 49083 starting at 1:00pm.
