Joice E. Meyers

Joice E. Meyers of Kalamazoo passed away January 23, 2019, Joice was born in Kalamazoo on November 16, 1928 the daughter of Elwin E, and Bertha (DeKorte) Howe. She worked at Klooster Greenhouses for 25 years. She loved to golf at Crestview Golf Course. Joice golfed 3 times a week, each time a different league; she was also the secretary for the leagues. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends, crocheting and was an excellent seamstress. On June 21, 1948 Joice married Peter Meyers Jr who preceded her in death on April 23, 1985. She was also preceded in death by her parents, step mother Doris Howe, a grandson; Jesse Meyers and sister Eileen Beck. Joice is survived by three children: Dana (John) VanderBeek of Plainwell, David (Patricia) Meyers of Cooper Twp and Lori (Tim) Bridgeman of Oshtemo, 4 grandchildren: 5 great grandchildren: step-sister, Connie Chamness of Decatur: sister in law: Marilyn Meyers of Kalamazoo, several nieces and nephews. According to her wishes there will be no visitation or services as cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Heart Association.
