Larry Joseph Combs

Larry Joseph Combs of Galesburg passed away peacefully early Sunday morning August 16, 2020 at Bronson Hospital of Kalamazoo. Larry was born on December 29, 1942. Son of Dean W. Combs and Burdella Combs (Allen). Larry worked for Kellogg’s as a Refrigeration Millwright and retired after 30 years of service. Larry enjoyed being at his cottage at the lake. He loved boat rides and fishing. He loved his life on the farm and enjoyed rides on his John Deer Gator with his dogs. Larry loved Border Collies and has raised six of them. His dogs were his kids. Larry also loved his family. He was a devout Catholic with special devotion to our Blessed Virgin Mary. Preceded in death by his parents Gerald W. Allen and Burdella Allen, and half-brother Wesley R. Allen. Surviving are: half-sister Donna (Allen) Terry Storey of North Carolina, and nieces and nephews, his half-sisters Brenda and Diana Allen of Galesburg. His wishes of cremation has been fulfilled. A Mass at St. Monica Church will be held on Wednesday August 26 at 11:00. Masks are required. No luncheon afterwards due to COVID-19. Donations can be made to St. Monica Church to have Mass said for Larry.
