Lillie Mae Turner 93, passed away Friday January 15 2021 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Lillie was born March 15, 1927 in Almyra, AR the daughter of John and Lettie (Wofford) Clemmons. She retired from the Chicago Public Schools and was a member of the Blue Roof Church in St. Joseph; active in Senior Services and as a Cub Scout Den Mother, she also enjoyed traveling. On April 21, 1952 in Milwaukee, WI Lillie was united in marriage to Sammie Turner who preceded her in death on January 22, 2008. Also preceding her were two children, Donald Winfrey and Debbie Turner; three brothers, Otto, Hubert, William Clemmons; sister, Christine Clemmons-Copeland. Surviving are five children, Barbara (James) Matthews-Cleveland, Ora Bell, Hobart Weathersby, Jacqueline Rush, Edmond Turner; three sisters, Ida Johnson, Nancy Weathersby, Thedora (Clincy) Trammell; host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as several nieces & nephews. Friends will be received 10 -11 am Saturday January 23, 2021 at the Blue Roof Church, 3084 Niles Rd St. Joseph, MI 49085, where services will follow at 11 am. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Chicago, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. www.redmondfuneralhomes.net
