Marcene Marie Carroll

March 10, 1926 — August 27, 2018

CARROLL, Marcene M. Paw Paw formerly of Kalamazoo Passed away Monday August 27, 2018 at Maple Lake Assisted Living. Marcene was born March 10, 1926 in Seneca, SD,  the daughter of E.J. and Florence (Branick) McGlothlin. She was a long-standing member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and employee of Borgess Hospital. Marcene was devoted to her family, her cats, and her many friends, and enjoyed tending her flowers and bridge club. On August 28, 1950 in Marshall, MN Marcene was united in marriage to Robert B. Carroll who preceded her in death in 2003. Also preceding her was her brother, Fr. Eugene "Alan" McGlothlin. Surviving her are four children: Bruce Carroll of Tucson, AZ; Barbara Carroll of Phoenixville PA; Dave (Lauren) Carroll of Paw Paw; Jim (Amy) Carroll of Mattawan; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews. Friends will be received 6-8 pm Thursday August 30, 2018 at Parchment Redmond Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 9:30 am Friday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Parchment. Interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of S/W Michigan, American Cancer Society or American Lung Association. The family would like to thank the staff at Maple Lake and Hospice of SW Michigan  for their kindness especially Lupe, Melissa and Nick.
