Paul William Schuring

Paul William Schuring, born August 17, 1953 in Kalamazoo, passed away May 14, 2019 at Borgess Hospital. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Joyce and Garrett Schuring , his sister,  Margaret Schuring, and his two brothers, James and Timothy Schuring. He is survived by a niece, Emily Murphy, and two nephews, Michael and David Schuring and several cousins. Paul Graduated from Portage Northern High School. His main career was a Commercial Printer. Paul was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Portage and Kalamazoo Model Railroad Historical Society. His hobby was all about trains and being involved with “The Club.” His friends referred to him as a “gentle giant.” For the past several years, Paul resided at Medlilodge of Portage. Though his body was disabled, his mind and spirit were not. He served on several committees there and was loved and respected by residents and staff. Cremation has been handled by Redmond Funeral Home. A Memorial service will be hild at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1515 Helen, Portage, MI 49002 (269)-344-3966  on June 12, 2019 at 11:00am, Officiated by Pastor Jerry Duggins.  In lieu of Flowers, Paul’s Preferences for donations are to the church or the Kalamazoo Model Railroad Historical Society (9336 N. Riverview Dr. Kalamazoo MI 49004). Cards and donations toward cremation cost may be sent to Carol Gray, PO Box 2183, Portage, MI 49081.
