Richard Edward Slumkoski

Richard E. Slumkoski 82 of Portage passed away Wednesday April 22, 2020 at Rose Arbor Hospice. Richard was born February 22, 1938 in Kalamazoo the son of Edward and Sadie (Elliott) Slumkoski. He worked for W.L. Molding Co. then retired from Checker Cab Co. in the Tool and Die Dept. Richard enjoyed bowling and watching TV. On July 6, 1958 in Kalamazoo Richard was united in marriage to the former Betty Morris who preceded him in death on April 24, 2012. Also preceding him in death was a son Richard Slumkoski, Jr. in 2008; one brother: Steve and five sisters: Sandy, Karen, Linda, Marlene, and Sandra. Surviving are two daughters, Darla (Robert) Merren of Dorr, Kimberly (Scott) Saddler of Kalamazoo; brother, Mike Slumkoski; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Redmond Funeral Home, Kalamazoo.
