Passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids. Bob Was Born March 18, 1922 in Chicago, IL the son of Robert and Vera (Larson) McNabb. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Navy as a Corpsman attaining the rank of Pharmacist Mate 1st Class. Bob graduated from Paw Paw High School, attended Western Michigan University and graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago, IL. He was owned and managed the McNabb Funeral Homes in Barry and Polo, IL. He was a member of the National and Illinois Funeral Directors Assoc., Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Ancient Accepted Order of Scottish Rite, Ansar Shrine Temple, Quincy Shrine Club, Past Master and life member of the Paw Paw-Lawton Masonic Lodge #25 F&AM, Past Worthy Patron of the Order of Eastern Star in Barry, member of the Decatur V.F.W, and Charter Commander of the Barry V.F.W. Post, Past Commander of American Legion in Barry and Paw Paw Posts, past president of Lions Club in Polo and Charter President of the Lions Club in Barry, past president of Kiwanis Club in Barry, past president of the Men’s Garden Club in Polo. Former member and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Paw Paw. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling and reading. On May 25, 1965 in Freeport, IL Bob was united in marriage to the former Jean Meeks who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Robert (Dawn) McNabb, Jr. of Silvis, IL, Arthur McNabb of Paw Paw; step daughter, Carol (Phillip) Pogue of Chatham, IL; 3 step sons, Allen Charvat of Helena, MT, Keith Charvat of Coal Valley, IL, Wayne Charvat of Quincy, IL; 10 grandchildren; 2 great granddaughters; sister-in-law, Laura McNabb of Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur McNabb in 2002. Friends are being received Sunday 5-8 p.m. with Masonic Services 7:30 pm at the ADAMS Funeral Home, Paw Paw where services will be held Monday at 11 am. Interment will be at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children.
