Robert Joseph Rafferty

Robert J. Rafferty 72 of Kalamazoo passed away Monday June 5, 2023 at Rose Arbor Hospice.  Robert was born January 23, 1951 in Kalamazoo the son of Joseph and Florence (Oly) Rafferty. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. He worked as a metal finisher for Checker Motors. Robert was dedicated to volunteer work in many local organizations- including Kalamazoo Social Services, Kids Connection Program, Boy Scouts, and Special Olympics, and was a reserve deputy sheriff for the Kalamazoo Sheriff’s Department. On July 7, 1973 in Parchment Robert was united in marriage to Kay (Boylan) Rafferty who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Kimberly Rafferty and her lifetime partner Joshua Osborn, a brother, James (Cherri) Rafferty; treasured niece Jennifer (Jeff) Rafferty-Frowine, and niece Ashley (Ben) Rafferty- Billman. A memorial Mass will be held July 5th at 11AM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Family hour will be from 10AM-11AM.  Arrangements by Parchment Redmond Funeral Home. www.redmondfuneralhomes.net
