Rosa Elba Pineda

Rosa Elba Pineda of Kalamazoo passed away Monday August 26, 2019 at Rose Arbor Hospice. Rosa was born June 12, 1952 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Manuel and Rosa (Martinez) Pineda. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and she retired from Pemco Corp. Rosa previously worked for Kalamazoo Public Library, Hillside Middle School and the Kalamazoo Gazette. She enjoyed cooking, bingo, motorcycles, gardening, visiting the sick, being a caregiver, making people laugh, being with her family and especially her grandchildren. Surviving are three daughters, Tina (Richard) Luther of Wooster, OH, Tanya (Terry) Hoke of Portage, Lucinda Hernandez of Kalamazoo; brother, Joe (Pam) Pineda of Gobles, Lupe Pineda of Kalamazoo, Martha Gutierrez of Kalamazoo; 10 grandchildren, Austin, Mariah, Annissa, Isaiah, Danealo, Larissa, Ashley, Azaria, Armani, Elijah, two great-grandchildren; many nieces & nephews. Rosa was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, William, George, Rudy Pineda; two grandchildren, Danealo, Dangela; two nephews, Joe Pineda and Terry Kerr; brother in law, José Gutierrez. Friends will be received 4-7 pm August 29, 2019 at Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49008 (269) 343-6156 where a Rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm??. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
