Viola Lucille Blum

Viola Lucille Blum 96 of Kalamazoo passed away Wednesday April 14, 2021 at home. Viola was born December 6, 1924 in Vernon, MO the daughter of King Saul and Bessie (Rose) Jones. She retired as an English and Spanish teacher for Gull Lake High School. Viola was a member of North Eastern Baptist Church and enjoyed flower gardening. On August 29, 1948 in Flushing Viola was united in marriage to Paul Blum who preceded her in death in 2006. Also preceding her in death was a daughter Linda Layman; brother, Bill Jones; sister, Ina Kilborne. She is survived by a son, David (Debbie) Blum; four grandchildren, Ernie Voight, Andy Vaight, Tiffany Blum, Cherity McNees; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Noble, Doris (Allen) Drake; several nieces & nephews. Private graveside services were held at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to North Eastern Baptist Church or Hospice of Southwest Michigan. www.redmondfuneralhomes.net
