William Tapley Johnson

William Tapley Johnson 90 of Dowagiac passed away peacefully Monday June 27, 2022 at The Timbers of Cass County in Dowagiac. William was born February 29, 1932 in Caruthersville, MO the son of James Gerald and Nellie (Alford) Johnson. He retired from Plainwell-Simpson Paper Company. He was preceded in death on April 30, 2021 by his wife of 70 Years Ruby Jewel Johnson. Also preceding him are a son, Terry Johnson; daughter-in-law, Sharon Johnson; four brothers, James, Harvey, Junior, Johnny Johnson; two sisters, Sarah Fisher, Nell Heinz. Surviving are three children, Patricia (Dean) Williams, Mike Johnson, Pamela (Dale) Morrison; two sisters, Peggy (Donald) Cutts of Valparaiso, FL, Joan (Dale) Gossett of Sikeston, MO; two brothers, Paul Johnson and Don (Frances) Johnson both of Caruthersville, MO; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. There will be a private graveside service at his request. The family would like to express our thankfulness to the Timbers of Dowagiac, the staff at Lee Memorial Hospital, and Elara Caring of Kalamazoo for your kindness and excellent care, he loved you all.
